- Do not be seduced by technology – decide what to do first, then decide how to do it.
- Do not allow marketing thinking to intrude on the creative process.
- Live in a world of ideas. Talk to very different people. Read lots of books on different subjects.
- Develop a respect for the psychology of the creative process.
- Identify the problem.
- Communicate that problem throughout your entire mind.
- Drive the problem as far into unconscious mind as you can. Get emotional about it.
- Do nothing. Let the problem take care of itself.
- Put the non-creative housekeeping part of the work at the end. That gives you time to get creative for your next project.
- Creativity is not fun. It's hard and it hurts.
